I've never really been the type to get into holidays. However, I decided this year that since I'm home all day and have a kid who will someday enjoy holidays that I want to put a little more effort into them. Still nothing huge, just a few little details for fun. Also, seeing a million ideas on Pinterest provides easy motivation and ideas. Here is how we celebrated Valentine's day this year!
I may or may not have put up the decorations in mid January....

Then on valentine's morning I surprised Brett with a little breakfast treat
 |
| It was actually an orange juice for breakfast, but I forgot to take a picture before he drank it. |
Brooke helped me make this card for daddy.
I'm not a huge fan of spending money of cut flowers that just end up dying in a few days. Especially around holidays when they are even more over-priced. So instead Brett got me some hanging plants for our back porch. And luckily, I haven't killed them yet.
And of course we had a fun photo shoot with this sweet little valentine.

| She tackled the dog and then "kissed" it. Hopefully that behavior won't continue later in life when she starts liking boys! |
Brett had to work late on the actual holiday so we had our "romantic dinner for 3" on Saturday.
Overall, it was a great success!
