We usually try to go back to Oregon for a visit each summer. This summer was tricky because Brett was already taking 2 weeks off to go backpacking and camping with the boyscouts at Philmont. Brooke and I decided that instead of staying at our house and being lonely we would go visit grandma and grandpa in Portland.
We took trips to many different playgounds. Played outside in the backyard and enjoyed the cooler weather. Went to the farmer's market. Spent an afternoon playing at Jump-on-it. Went to the rose gardens. Walked around to 2 different duck ponds. Went to story time at the library and had many other fun adventures. We sure kept busy and loved all the play time!
Wish we could say the same about Brett's adventure. Although he did have a decent time the trip was tainted by him getting really sick and loosing his voice. It was a rough few weeks for him and we were all glad to be back together.

Grandpa Gary's Baptism
We were so thrilled to get to go to Baker City for a quick weekend trip recently. We went to be there for Brett's grandpa who was getting baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Later day Saints. The gospel is such a huge part of our lives and we are so happy for his decision to be baptized. It was such a special weekend with all of the family there. We also got to spend some family time at the cabin which is always a hit.
Brett's other set of grandparents also recently moved to Baker city so we were glad to stop in and see them also!
It was a quick trip but definitely worth it!
