| She must be growing like crazy because I feel like I get bigger every day. Finally a legit bump! |
We can hardly believe we are already at the 30 week point. According to the counter on the blog as of today (sunday) we only have 67 days left. Yikes! The due date is September 20 and we are already halfway through July..... where oh where is time going!? Luckily we got a lot of baby stuff while away and are slowly getting ready to welcome our little girl into this world. I read in one of my books that pregnancy isn't just about growing a baby but it also is about growing the parents into being a mom and dad. I'm glad we'll have had 9 months to prepare before she comes, but I'm also certain that it will take us the rest of our lives to figure this parenting thing out. Its been fun watching Brett become a dad already and I'm even more excited to see him interact with our little girl when she isn't hiding inside of me. I can't even explain how much I love watching his face light up when he feels her kick or watches her make my belly roll or the tenderness I can already hear in his voice when he talks to her or kisses my belly. I've said it before but I'll say it again, I just know he is going to be a great dad! As for me, I know that my priorities and way of looking at things are already changing and I'm so excited to share the love that I already have for our daughter with her when she gets here. Spending so much time these last few weeks surrounded by beautiful babies and talking about all things pregnancy and kid related has really help everything feel more real, as well as helping me feel more comfortable with the daunting task ahead. I wouldn't say all my fears have gone completely away but I do feel confident that with the help of Brett, and of course the Lord, we will be able to do this.
We have a couple of doctors appointments this next week to check on our baby girls growth and well-being, so next week's post should have more about how our daughter is doing (and not so much how we are doing). As of right now though she is curled up into a ball on my lower right side making my belly nice and tight. My nausea (and crankiness) returns at points if I don't eat regularly and I get fatigued easily but no other symptoms have really been an issue. She is still allowing my to sleep through the night and is staying away from both my ribs and bladder, which I greatly appreciate!
Also, for a fun comparison, here is me in the same outfit at 10 weeks and now at 30 weeks. Please excuse the horrible lighting and less than flattering pictures in the first set. Those were taken during the "dark days" and I just wanted to get my pictures taken and be done with it. I'm glad that I fill out that cardigan much better now and can't believe I wore it then.

Wow! Looks like you have been having lots of fun! You are a way cute pregnant! Love the bump and can't believe you are almost done!
You are so cute! I need to get myself some belts so I can show the world I still kind of have a waist... :) I hope things are going well with the baby--you'll have to let all of us roommies know how things are panning out.
