A little disclaimer about the picture, I realized as I was uploading it that I am wearing the same dress I wore 2 weeks ago. I'd apologize, but the truth is that it is super comfortable and I'm pregnant and allowed to do whatever it take to maintain some sort of comfort. Especially at church where I have to sit for long periods of time on less than comfortable chairs. So take that fashion police.
I'm happy to report that the baby is still growing inside of me and that we got lots of good news from our doctor appointment on Friday. Our little one listened to our pleadings and grew. She measured over the 5 lb mark which just makes me so relieved! She is still in the 8th percentile, but since everything else is looking great the specialist decided to let me keep her in another week. He recommended that I be induced during my 38th week. And so, a date has been set.
The plan is to induce me on Monday Sept 10th at 9:00 am.
I'll be 38 weeks and 4 days by that point so we are hoping she agrees with the plan and comes quickly and easily without any major health issues. We are so excited to meet her!! And although there are still a lot of unknowns, we are grateful to have some sort of plan to work with. T minus 8 days!
In other news this week
- I had a fabulous baby shower with the sisters from church. I specifically mentioned needing/wanting children's books and am very happy with the results. We also got some more cute clothes, blankets and little toys.
- I made and froze a total of 8 meals (in addition to the ones we ate all week). I have plans for a few more but I'm not sure my freezer has room at this point and I'm a little tired of doing dishes. So we'll see what happens.
- Brett called me sausage fingers at church today when I realized I couldn't get my wedding ring off my finger. Don't worry, he said it in the most loving way possible and we both laughed. I was later able to get it off once my hands cooled off a bit.
- Brett bore his testimony today about the peace we get from the scriptures and while talking he mentioned that our daughter would be joining us a week from monday, so he could use all the peace he could get. Most of the ward knows our situation and has been following her growth so it seemed like a natural things to say. During Sunday School, however, a visitor turned around and asked me if we were adopting. Um...... nope. I pointed to my belly and she looked surprised. I'm sure she didn't get a good look at me and the way Brett phrased it might have left it open. But we sure got a good laugh out of that one.
- If the old wives tale is true and heart burn means the baby has hair then she was growing her hair like wild this week. Enough said.
- Brett and I are trying to enjoy our last few days as a childless couple. We went out last night to a concert in the park. Although if I'm being completely honest we left after the first band and didn't even stay for the fireworks. Yes, I know, we are "an old married couple" and honestly were just too tired to stay out past our bedtime.
Here are the three pictures we remembered to take last night. And yes, I went over to the kiddie splash pad to cool off my feet. Don't judge :) And yes my hubby has beautiful blue eyes!

Being induced in the morning is thee best. You can hopefully get one last good nights rest before she comes! I'm so excited for you! You should be getting something in the mail from me. Just to let u know.
One week. I'm so excited for you, and my heart is happy knowing you feel peace. You're having a baby on Monday! Ahhh!
