A mover and a shaker

Brooke has been "mobile" for quite some time now.  Ever since she learned how to roll over it has been one of her favorite activities.  She can easily entertain herself for short periods of time on the floor by rolling around between her toys. This has been great for me, especially earlier this week when Brett and I were both sick with a nasty stomach bug.  Brooke seemed to sense something was wrong and gladly played by herself (off and on) for the whole day while we laid on the couch and supervised.

With the occasional full body reach and ability to turn slowly in a circle she was pretty content.  Until this week.  This week she decided that there MUST be some way to move forward.  And so, she has started the first steps towards army crawling.

note: the only sound to these clips is general conference playing in the background, so assuming your not listening to be taught and edified feel free to mute the audio.

And so I present to you.  Brooke on the move.

Sometimes she miscalculates how far away the toy is and tries so hard to reach out to it only to realize she has to move forward just a bit more.
Exhibit A:

Sometimes her legs are too strong for her own good and she topples back and forth a few times before eventually reaching her goal.
Exhibit B:

And sometimes she makes it look just too easy.
Exhibit C:

And, yes the baby bowl lid and empty plastic water bottle you see in the clips are two of Brooke's favorite toys.  And don't let the pacifier that is laying around fool you.  She still won't take it.  It is simply another toy that she loves to chew on.

After all that crawling she was a little worn out.  But this girl does not stay still for long.  After a brief (read: 2 minutes) calm time in my lap she was anxious to get a-movin' again.  I put her in her jumperoo and she showed off her bouncing skills.

We had a great morning listening to conference and watching in awe as our baby girl grows up.  I feel so blessed to have her in our lives and feel such a great responsibility to raise her up in righteousness.  The world is a scary place these days but I know that by following the Prophets and by staying close to Christ we can find peace and joy while here on this earth.
