One day last month the fire department hosted an open house. We braved the unseasonably hot, sticky weather and took Brooke over to see all the excitement. I'm not sure she made the connection, but she still enjoyed looking at all the new things.
Including the water coming out of the hose....
And all the buttons and knobs on the trucks...
Don't let this picture of her wearing the hat they gave her deceive you. She hates having it on. Not shown are the dozen or so pictures of it blurry and covering her face.
She is ready to go off on the next call!
We stuck around so we could watch them use the jaws of life. Kind of anti-climatic plus it was SO hot and humid so I don't have the complete after shot. It was taking forever so Brooke and I sought refuge back inside the firehouse.
They had a bounce house and Brooke LOVED watching the kids jump around. Being the meanie parents that we are, we didn't let her go in (although a creepy old fireman who followed us around offered to take her in. We said no. Repeatedly).
