Sorry its a little late, but here is a recap (mostly pictures) of our 4th of July weekend.
We drove up to Baker and spent some time with Brett's parents in the great outdoors. Although I love spending time outside, it also reminded me how much I DISLIKE bug bites. I don't really mind bugs (read: spiders) unless they are biting me (read: mosquitoes). Eww
We spent Saturday/Saturday night/Sunday up at their family cabin
Brett's parents were so good to us! Taking us out to play and feeding us well!
The boys made us a great fire to sit around Saturday night
During the day we went on adventures on the 4-wheelers
I decided one of my favorite things about nature is water. I love lakes/waterfalls/streams etc.
On Monday we went back up in the mountains
We stopped at the dam and took in the beauty of it all.
And of course, we got some fishing in. Brett and his dad meant business... wearing their waders and getting into the chilly water. They caught so many too! So, I guess it was worth it.
Mostly I sat on the bank and relaxed, but I caught a few fish. Please don't judge my overly excited "I-just-caught-a-fish" faces.
For fireworks, we headed to the next town and sat in the back of the pickup on a dirt road and watched the show from the local rodeo. I loved it! I guess there is a little county girl in me.
The 4th of July is one of my most favorite holidays. I love spending the day doing fun activities with family and friends and what a better way to end a holiday than cuddling up with the one you love and watching fireworks! LOVE IT!
Thanks again to my great in-laws for taking time out of your busy schedules and letting us play with you guys!
