- Brett finished his last final of his undergraduate career yesterday. Definitely exciting!
- Tomorrow is my last day of work. Both. Scary: leaving a steady source of income in an uncertain world. Exciting: the opportunity to take what I've learned in the last 2 years and apply it in a new situation that will help me learn and grow even more.
- In 5 days we will load everything we own into a moving truck. Scary. I am not even close to be ready and I have no idea if everything will even fit...
- Christmas. Exciting! Family. Friends. Food. And constant reminders of the Savior and the love he has for us. (I'll miss ya mom and dad!).
- A 4 day car ride to Houston Texas, starting the day after Christmas. Both. Scary: unknown weather conditions and possible vehicle difficulties. Exciting: adding a few more states to the ones I can say I've been to.
- Moving into a new apartment. Both. Scary: moving into a place we have never seen and could be a total dump. Exciting: having a new home to decorate and make our own.
- Moving to Texas. Both. Scary: moving far away from family and friends. Exciting: new adventures and getting to take Brett with me!
- Living in Texas. Scary. Two words: humidity and bugs. Oh yeah, and living so far away from family.
- Being a part of a new ward. Exciting: I'm just glad that the church is constant despite a drastic change in the congregation.
- Brett doing his student teaching. Exciting (at least for me, haha) I think Brett will be one rock star teacher and I am excited for him to actually get in the classroom and show off his talents and abilities. I know he is going to be successful and do so good at providing for our family. We have thought and prayed a lot about this move and really feel like it is the best move for us!
- Me not having a job lined up. Both. Scary: uh... rent, bills, etc with no income. enough said. Exciting: having a chance to relax (read: be lazy) and get us established in our new little home.
Overall, yes there are a lot of scary things about this move. I've lived in Provo since 2005. Its been a great place for me/us. We have lots of friends and feel very comfortable here. However, I know that it is in the moments of discomfort that we learn and grow the most. I'm sure this move will cause a lot of discomfort but I am honestly looking forward to the growth opportunities it will provide. And most of all, I'm SOO glad I'm married to my best friend and get to take him with me!
This IS happening. It IS real. And there is no turning back now. :) Any advice/ideas on how to make the drive fun? What about dealing with humidity and (shudder) flying cockroaches.

Oh man. Good luck! Moving out of provo was a great thing and also a little bit sad for us. If you have a laptop and a cigarette lighter power adapter you can watch movies on it. I don't think our U-haul truck even had a radio in it. Craziness.
One thing I learned after moving away from The Bubble is my ward is so much more than where I go to church now. Before it was nice to meet people and be happy on Sunday, but now these people are like our extended family. We NEED each other. I have really enjoyed it, even though it has been extremely challenging sometimes.
Yesterday I killed four cockaroaches. After awhile they don't scare as much. But I don't know what it is about these creatures. I have Beatles much larger in my house but roaches still creep me out. ANYWAY! its exciting about your move. you will do great. I'm excited to come and visit you!
