Merry Christmas

We've checked most things off our moving to-do list and are enjoying a few relaxing days celebrating Christmas in Baker City Oregon.  With everything being so hectic I didn't get any christmas cards sent out but we want all our family and friends to know that we are thinking of you this holiday season.  I love this time of year and how people seem to change for the better, if only for a few short moments.   It is impossible not to try to be better as we remember the birth of our Savior and the love that he has for us and the great sacrifice he ultimately made.

Prior to packing everything up, we did take the chance to decorate for christmas. I know that this season isn't about the tree and the lights but seeing those things sure helps put me in the spirit.

This season we were blessed to have the chance to participate with our ward and help provide christmas for a number of families in the area.  It was such a special experience to go shopping and spend money on people we've never met but know will benefit from our sacrifice.  We all got together and wrapped the presents while we ate and I was blown away by the generosity of our fellow ward members as the piles around the gym continued to grow.  Brett and I then delivered to a few families and it was a special experience to see the smiles on their faces.

On a lighter note, we also had a number of parties to go too.  It was fun to see friends/coworkers one last time before we headed out.  One of the parties was a "tacky christmas sweater" party.  I took the opportunity to get out my glue gun and get to work.

From our family to yours, have a very Merry Christmas!
