20 weeks... that means I'm half way there! I can not even believe it. I feel like I am just starting the journey and can not even imagine having a little baby in our home. We are SO excited though and it is definitely a main topic of conversation between Brett and I. I know you can't really see a difference in my belly, but we sure can and it blows our minds every time we think about what's going on inside. It is still feels really tight, both inside and out, and I think I officially convinced myself that what I've been feeling is the baby. The other day Brett was feeling my belly and says he felt something too, so that was a joyous moment! He hasn't had any luck since that night but we're anxiously waiting. I've felt great this last week and can I just say that I love not being sick anymore! The difference in every aspect of my life is night and day.
The only downside of the last week was complications at our doctors office. Due to insurance issues we had to change doctors this month. We originally had a appointment and ultrasound scheduled for two weeks ago but our new doctor couldn't see us until last week. This was only the start of a test of my patience. We went in on Wednesday only to realize that they never actually received my past medical records (even though I had confirmed with my previous doctor that they were sent). Of course it was our luck that the old office is closed on wednesdays so there was nothing they could do about it and we had to go home without even hearing the heartbeat. I was quite emotional about it all but there wasn't anything we could do about it. Brett lovingly insisted we go to Sonic and get slushes (yum!) and that helped me feel a little better too. We were able to reschedule our appointment for this Friday but the doctor said because she hasn't seen me "officially" yet she can not order a ultrasound. So the waiting continues on that. Hopefully things will go smoothly on Friday and we'll be able to schedule something quickly because we are super anxious to see the baby again and hopefully find out the gender. I know in the grand scheme of things of things, waiting a few weeks is hardly a trial but it sure felt like it. Hopefully we'll have news soon to share!
