The Oregon Coast: part one

** We are getting so close to done with the Oregon 2013 trip posts and I can't wait because then I can catch up on some of the other fun things that have happened lately that I want to document**

When I was a teenager, Seaside was often our go-to beach city.  It was closest and offered a variety of things to do in town if the weather was bad.  It was fun to go back and realize that not much as changed.  We spent time walking down the boardwalk, in and out of shops and rode the carousel.   Unfortunately we missed the Candy Man (who passes out free taffy), maybe next time.  We played mini golf and drove bumper cars, but I couldn't convince the others (or myself) that a ride on the tilt-a-whirl was necessary.  Somethings are better left for teenagers to enjoy.  We also played on the beach and introduce Brooke to the sand and the ocean (but that is for part two).

We gave Brooke her first lesson in golf...

....but she was easily distracted and not interested.
If I remember right it was a fierce competition between two of these three players.  I'll let you guess which one wasn't even close (starts with and M and ends with me).  Brett won despite my dad's multiple hole-in-ones.

Getting ready to ride the bumper cars.  Brooke was pointing to which one she wanted me to ride it ;-)

Brooke got to stay with Grandma on the side and cheer us on!

What you don't see in these pictures is just how many times Brett hit me.  Its like he was trying to bump me or something! ;-)
