That said, we were so lucky with the weather on the day that we went. Seriously, it has been a long time since I was able to enjoy such nice weather at the beach. When we first drove into Seaside we knew we had to at least go see the beach. The sky was mostly blue with a thin line of fog and we weren't sure how long it would last.
We walked the boardwalk and Brett and I enjoyed walking sans baby thanks to my parents who were more than willing to push. I love Brooke with all my heart but sometimes it is nice to just relax.
After our rather short walk we turned around to find this...
The fog rolled in and we could no longer even see the water. We patted ourselves on the back for getting at least a few pictures with the beach and went into town (see post 1). Luckliy, after a nap and lunch time the sun returned!
This meant we could go down onto the sand, go out to the water and of course take a million more pictures.
Brooke LOVED putting her toes in the sand. I'll post a video at the end of her first time touching the water. She warmed up rather quickly and didn't cry at all the whole time we were by the water. Even when we accidentally got her soaked by a wave.
Brett took her out into the waves while I was content to stand and feel the sand disappear beneath my toes. Seriously, love that sensation!
Some good playtime with grandpa. By this time we took her shorts off because they were wet but her diaper was a little full of ocean water. Luckily she didn't seem to mind.

And of course, you can't go to a place with sand without writing in it...

| Hard to see the writing on this one but there is also a little sand castle |
Back in my younger days I would have put on a swimming suit and jumped on it. But in my more mature, less adventurous days, I was content to stay dry and warm. Back on the blanket Brooke got to relax and soak in the sun with grandma.
We also took a quick drive down to Cannon beach. Took some pictures and grabbed a snack.

| You can not tell me that little face of hers is not adorable! |
And of course went to see Haystack Rock
We didn't spend too long because Brooke was ready to head home. Brett drove and I was up front with him while my parents entertained Brooke in the back (another reason why grandparents are great to have around). All day with only one short 30 minute nap but she did great!
