Monday's Memories: Spring Cleaning

A few quick highlights from this last week:
  • The sun finally came out and Brett got to play some softball for the first time in a long time, and did I mention they won? Cause they did.  And Brett is an amazing athlete.
  • We took advantage of the sun and went for a nice long walk one night.  Seriously one of my most favorite activities.
  • Brett and I decided we love to go out to breakfast and have been trying some different restaurants in Provo. Last Friday we tried this placed called Communal. I had a yummy ham and spinach omelet and Brett had biscuits and gravy.  If you live in the area... we need more suggestions for yummy breakfast places.  Pretty please?
  • We spent some time playing mini golf out in the sunshine on Saturday.  We got to use our Pass of All Passes and got super excited for it to warm up enough that we can justify going to the water park.
  • On Saturday we got to spend time with Brett's Grandparents and Aunt/family in Sandy.  Brett played with the guys in a Golf Tournament Fundraiser while I tried my hand at decorating cupcakes for a surprise b-day party for cousin Cami who turned 16! We enjoyed seeing family and although we came back exhausted, we had a great time.
  • While the 16 year-olds were partying it up at the house, Brett and I went with cousin Matt to see the new X-men movie.  Full price movie theaters have nice seats.  Period.
  • Church was great, especially because I didn't have to teach or give a talk in sacrament meeting (yes, I had to do BOTH the week before)
  • Kinda random, but we got to eat corn on the cob with our sunday dinner and I LOVE corn on the cob.  Love it.
And now on to our regularly scheduled program.  The next installment of Monday's Memories.  This week is brought to you direct from "Spring Cleaning" written on March 17th of 2008.

I got home and a sink full of dishes welcomed me. That's not usually a good feeling.... but i just decided that it was okay because i wanted to wash the dishes. Yes, that's right. I, Kirsten Clark, actually wanted to clean. Oh but it didn't stop there folks. I washed all the dishes, cleaned the counters/stove, swept the floor...went to fhe... mopped the kitchen floor, cleaned the table, swept around the carpet (you wouldn't believe how much hair was stuck there) vacuumed, partially cleaned the vanity area of the bathroom AND started cleaning my room. It felt so good!

Wow, really?  I did that?  Hmm... any ideas on how to get that bug back?  Cause lets just say that I came home to a sink full of dishes today, and they are still there.

Also in the same blog I stated:

I've always blamed small spaces and lack of organization. Especially at college! It seems pointless to try and organize the endless piles because there isn't really anywhere better to put them. Sure i could throw things away, but what fun would that be?!  Instead i just look forward to next fall/ my new house. There is SOOO much storage space in the house we are renting. Its going to be great!!

But let me just set that record straight.  No, it was not easier to stay organized in "The Hub" aka the pink house.  Nor is it easier to stay organized now that we have a whole spare bedroom.  Space does not create organization.  Only work can do that.  And so until I have time/energy to do it, organization will remain a dream.

I hear Guru's has some good breakfast. I haven't tried it, but that's the word on the street.

Good luck on your cleaning endeavors!
